Grifulvin V (Griseofulvin)

Griseofulvin 500mg
Grifulvin V is used for preparation fungal infection for the body, scalp, nails, foot (athleteis foot), hair follicles (barber’s itch) or thigh (jock itch).

 

 

Grifulvin V is used only on doctor’s orders. For exact dosing instructions you must check the docket on the Grifulvin V.

 

The medicine is taking by mouth without or with food.

The Grifulvin V must be shaking well before each using the medicine.

For dosing Grifulvin V is using a measuring device. If you are unsure of how to measure the medicine ask your doctor for help.

 

You to heal up your infection in full when you are take the Grifulvin V for the full course of treatment. Even if in a few days you are feeling better, continue the course.

 

Grafulvin V is an antifungal agent. The medicine is making the skin more immune to fungal infection.

Take Myambutol as soon as possible, if you ignore a dose of medicine. You must go back to your regular dosing shedule even if it is almost time for next dose. Remember no way do not take 2 dose at once.

Store a medicine away from moisture and sunlight at room temperature.

If you are allergic to any components of Grifulvin V, if you have severe the blood disiase porphyria, liver disease or you are pregnant do not use Grifulvin V.

Some components of the Lamisil may interact with others medical conditions. If you have any medical conditions and if any of the following apply to you tell about your doctor:

You are planning to become pregnant; you are pregnant or are breast-feeding

You are taking any nonprescription and prescription medicine, dietary supplement or herbal preparation

You are having allergies to foods, medicines or other substances

You are having liver disease and lupus, diabetes, numbness of the feet or hands

Some components of the Lamisil may interact with others medical conditions. If you are taking any other medicines of the following tell about your doctor:

Barbiturates (eg, phenobarbital) is decrease Grifulvin V’s effectiveness.

Anticoagulants (eg, warfarin) oral contraceptives or cyclosporine and their effectiveness are decreased by Grifulvin V.

Many people have minor or no side effects in spite of all medicines account for side effects.  If any of follow effects are persist or become bothersome tell your doctor:

Difficult sleeping; diarhea; dizziness; headache; fatigue; nausea; vomiting; stomach upset.

Take care if any of these severe side effects to turn up:

Confusion; severe allergic reaction ( hives; rash; diffcult breafing; itching; tightness in the chest; swelling of the face, mouth, tongue, lips); wite patches in the mouth; numbness of tingling of the feet or hands.

Nizoral(Ketoconazole)

Nizoral is an antifungal medication. Nizoral is used for the treatment of a variety of fungal infections including candidiasis, chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis, oral thrush, candiduria, and dandruff or seborrhoeic dermatitis.

Treats fungal infections in the skin, throat, urinary tract, and lungs. Belongs to a class of drugs called antifungals.

Nizoral Should Not Be Used:

You should not use this medicine if you have ever had an allergic reaction to Nizoral(ketoconazole), miconazole (Monistat®), or fluconazole (Diflucan®). Ketoconazole should not be used with terfenadine (Seldane®), astemizole (Hismanal®), cisapride (Propulsid®), or triazolam (Halcion®).

How to Use Nizoral:
Tablet

* Your doctor will tell you how much medicine to take and how often. Do not take more medicine or take it more often than your doctor tells you to.
* Take your ketoconazole until it is gone or until your doctor tells you to stop. If you stop taking the medicine too soon, your infection may return.
* To avoid stomach upset, ketoconazole may be taken with food or milk unless your doctor tells you differently.

If a dose is missed:

* Use your medicine as soon as you remember that you have missed your dose.
* Skip the missed dose. If it is almost time for your next dose, wait until then to use the medicine and skip the missed dose.
* You should not use two doses at one time.

How to Store and Dispose of Nizoral:

* Keep your medicine at room temperature, away from heat and direct light. Do not freeze.
* Keep all medicine away from children.

Drugs and Foods to Avoid:

Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using any other medicine, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.

* Certain drugs should not be used while using Nizoral(ketoconazole). Using these drugs can cause very serious medical problems, heart problems, or even death.
* Make sure your doctor knows if you are also using antacids, Tagamet®, Pepcid®, Axid®, Zantac®, or Prilosec®.
* Also, tell your doctor if you are using cyclosporine (Sandimmune®), digoxin (Lanoxin®), isoniazid (INH®), methylprednisolone, midazolam (Versed®), phenytoin (Dilantin®), rifampin (Rifadin®), tacrolimus (Prograf®), or warfarin (Coumadin®).
* Your doctor may want to test your blood while you are using this medicine. Be sure to keep all appointments.

Warnings While Using Nizoral:

* If you are pregnant or breast feeding, talk to your doctor before using this medicine.
* Before using Nizoral, tell your doctor if you have stomach disorders, liver disease, or drink alcohol more than once a week.

Possible Side Effects While Using Nizoral:

Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects:

* Dark-colored urine
* Fast or irregular heartbeat
* Loss of appetite
* Pale colored stools
* Unusual fatigue
* Wheezing or trouble breathing
* Yellow skin and eyes
* Severe nausea or vomiting
* Severe rash, hives, or itching

If you notice these less serious side effects, talk with your doctor:

* Mild nausea or vomiting
* Stomach pain

If you notice other side effects that you think are caused by this medicine, tell your doctor

When Lamisil Should Not Be Used:

You should not use Lamisil if you have had an allergic reaction to
terbinafine.

How to Use Lamisil:

Packet, Tablet

  • Your doctor will tell you how much of this medicine to use and how
    often. Do not use more medicine or use it more often than your doctor
    tells you to.
  • Keep using this medicine for the full treatment time, even if you
    feel better after the first few doses. Your infection may not clear up
    if you stop using the medicine too soon.
  • Sprinkle the oral granules on a spoonful of pudding or other
    soft, non-acidic food such as mashed potatoes, and then swallow without
    chewing. Do not use applesauce or fruit-based foods. If you will need
    two packets of oral granules with each dose, you may sprinkle the
    content of both packets on one spoonful or two spoonfuls of non-acidic
    food.
  • It may take several months for your infection to clear up completely
    and for healthy nails to grow out and replace the infected nails.

If a dose is missed:

  • If you miss a dose or forget to use Lamisil , use it as soon as you
    can. If it is almost time for your next dose, wait until then to use the
    medicine and skip the missed dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up
    for a missed dose.

How to Store and Dispose of Lamisil:

  • Store the medicine in a closed container at room temperature, away
    from heat, moisture, and direct light.
  • Ask your pharmacist, doctor, or health caregiver about the best way
    to dispose of any leftover medicine after you have finished your
    treatment. You will also need to throw away old medicine after the
    expiration date has passed.
  • Keep all medicine away from children and never share your medicine
    with anyone.

Drugs and Foods to Avoid:

Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using any other medicine, including
over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.

  • Make sure your doctor knows if you are also using cimetidine (Tagamet®),
    cyclosporine (such as Gengraf®, Neoral®, or Sandimmune®),
    dextromethorphan (Benylin®), fluconazole (Diflucan®), ketoconazole (Nizoral®),
    rifampin (such as Rifaden®, Rifamate®, or Rifater®), blood pressure
    medicine (such as carvedilol, metoprolol, timolol, Blocadren®, Coreg®,
    or Toprol®), an MAO inhibitor (such as Eldepryl®, Marplan®, Nardil®, or
    Parnate®), medicine for heart rhythm problems (such as amiodarone,
    flecainide, propafenone Cordarone®, Tambocor®, or Rythmol®), or
    medicine for depression (such as amitriptyline,clomipramine
    desipramine, fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, imipramine, nortriptyline,
    paroxetine, venlafaxine, Anafranil®, Aventyl®, Effexor®, Luvox®, Pamelor®,
    Paxil®, Prozac®, Norpramin®, or Tofranil®).

Warnings While Using Lamisil:

  • Make sure your doctor knows if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or
    if you have liver disease, kidney disease, blood problems, lupus, or HIV
    infection (AIDS).
  • Lamisil  may lower the number of some types of blood cells in
    your body. Because of this, you may get infections more easily. To help
    with these problems, avoid being near people who are sick or have
    infections while you are using this medicine.
  • Lamisil  may cause serious skin problems. Check with your
    doctor right away if you develop skin rash or other skin problems while
    you are using this medicine.
  • Your doctor will need to check your progress at regular visits while
    you are using this medicine. Be sure to keep all appointments.

Possible Side Effects While Using Lamisil:

Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects:

  • Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands,
    swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble
    breathing.
  • Fever, chills, cough, sore throat, and body aches.
  • Nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, or pain in the upper stomach.
  • Blistering, peeling, or red skin rash.
  • Dark-colored urine.
  • Yellowing of your skin or the whites of your eyes.

If you notice these less serious side effects, talk with your doctor:

  • Diarrhea, stomach pain, or upset stomach.
  • Unusual or bad taste in your mouth.
  • Mild skin rash or itching.

If you notice other side effects that you think are caused by this
medicine, tell your doctor
